Sunny skies and temps in the mid 70s are in the Thursday forecast for Hallandale Beach, Fla. Let’s get to work.

Race 6 | Gulfstream Park | maiden special weight (Tapeta)

Balanced field of 7 without an obvious toss-out or favorite. #3 With Kindness looks best on paper in terms of form, but that was all achieved in 1-turn dirt races. Two turns on Tapeta make taking a short price unappealing on that filly. #2 Chitchatchitchat was fairly even in her dirt sprint debut and those kind typically appreciate the 2-turn extension. She’s by Twirling Candy and synthetics often are in the cards for his offspring. Jockey move to Irad Ortiz is notable and that’s the mild lean. #4 Lindsay Smiles has a solid Tapeta route already on her ledger. #5 Smooth Claret and #6 Starship Melody are very similar on ability exiting the same turf mile.

Race 7 | Gulfstream Park | allowance/optional claiming

#2 Blueberry Hill spread-eagled a solid-looking field in her debut at 7 furlongs. She’s drawn beautifully with more speed than the only filly to her inside in this 1-1/16 miles stretch-out. Irad Ortiz Jr. figures to hustle her for the rail into the clubhouse turn and Todd Pletcher has trained the last 2 generations of this win-early female family. Give her the edge on wider-drawn #6 Justinqueso and #7 Pure Beauty.

Race 8 | Gulfstream Park | allowance/optional claiming (turf)

#6 Le Amazonia exits a better-than-looks second in allowance company Feb. 5 when taking on the talented, multiple stakes-placed runner Shisospicy. This filly has run 4 rock-solid races and figures to get a stalk-and-pounce trip in a race that has plenty of pace. Well-bred #5 Sharedashenanigans is a legacy filly whose mama won Breeders’ Cup glory (Sharing) as well as her grandmother (Shared Account). She ran excellent fresh in her debut and returns from an October layoff. Respect #3 Make Haste off stout competition in the UK and a promising workout tab for Christophe Clement.

Race 9 | Gulfstream Park | maiden claiming (Tapeta)

#1 Dude Ranch has rail speed, proven Tapeta sprint form and no excuses on the cut back from a failed route bid. Her drop in class and distance in one swoop should be enough so long as she doesn’t get in a tangle with #2 Long Gone Sally next door. Never fear just one other speed horse, they say. Get by with this pair.
