Breeders’ Cup and Florida Derby winners clash with an unbeaten in a milestone 10th edition of the Pegasus World Cup this Saturday at Gulfstream Park. A capacity field of 12 (plus 2 also-eligibles) was announced Sunday for the $3 million showcase, headlined by undefeated Disco Time, defending PWC race champ White Abarrio, 2025 Florida Derby winner Tappan Street and 2024 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile hero Full Serrano.
Horseplayers can take advantage of the $10,000 Exacta-Thon promotion at 1/ST BET and Xpressbet for Saturday’s Pegasus World Cup card at Gulfstream Park – as well as our $10 money-back special (win bets) on the featured PWC, PWC Turf and PWC Filly and Mare Turf.
Gulfstream Park track oddsmaker Brian Nadeau identified Disco Time as the 8-5 morning line favorite from post 1. Flavien Prat rides for the first time as Disco Time looks to advance to 6-for-6 lifetime. While Abarrio will start from post 11 as the 4-1 second choice on the morning line.
A contentious pace projection in the Pegasus World Cup comes from stretch-out sprinters Captain Cook (post 9) and Madaket Road (post 6) as well as milers Full Serrano (post 3) and Mika (post 10). Position into the clubhouse turn of the 1-1/8 miles race will be critical. Given the rail, the pace-versatile Disco Time likely will be asked for more early emphasis in order to maintain position into the first bend.
The 11-hole presents a challenge for the mid-packing White Abarrio, whose accomplishments include 2023 Florida Derby and 2024 Breeders’ Cup Classic victories. He can become the only 2-time winner of the Pegasus World Cup, a race whose honor roll includes superstars like Arrogate, Gun Runner and Knicks Go. Irad Ortiz Jr. looks to pad his PWC record of 3 victories. Trainer Bob Baffert also seeks a fourth Pegasus crown when he sends out Madaket Road.
Saturday’s stacked lineup at Gulfstream Park also includes the $1 million Grade 1 Pegasus World Cup Turf (Race 12), where Chad Brown’s 3-time Grade 1 winner Program Trading is the 5-2 morning line favorite in a field of 13 (including 1 also-eligible). The $500,000 Grade 2 Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf (Race 10) boasts a wide-open group of 14 with 12 to start. Whiskey Decision is the lukewarm 9-2 morning line favorite behind stakes wins at Aqueduct, Monmouth and Delaware Park, also for trainer Chad Brown.
First post Saturday at Gulfstream will be 11 am ET. Advance wagering will be offered on Friday. Saturday’s Rainbow 6 at Gulfstream Park will have a mandatory payout provision.
