Each day during the 17-day Keeneland Fall Meet, I’ll spotlight the double-digit morning line prices that you’ll want to consider for your exotics plays. These are based on my top-3 choices in each race and will only appear if they’re in my mix and of significant odds.

They are OFF THE TURF today at Keeneland, so Races 4,7,9 move to the main track. The Keeneland Turf Pick 3 wager still will be offered. It’s been difficult to deliver longshots in recent days with very formful results, but we’ll take our chances on this card with several runners who could bust that pattern.

Race 1:
#3 Suited and Booted (12-1 ML) – 2 turns may be a question, but pedigree for it sure is not. Good draw for the first time stretching out and fits the conditions of a starter allowance $30,000 to a T.

Race 3:
#9 Damascus Steel (20-1 ML) – In a race where I don’t trust the early speed to sustain while battling, this outside-drawn sprinter appears to have some finishing ability. I like that the blinkers come off while returning from a July freshening at Ellis, a prep locale that’s outperformed expectations this meet. Good workout tab for a very good layoff barn in Andrew McKeever.

Race 5:
#12 Beach Vibe (30-1 ML) – The success of Omaha Beach offspring on this Kee main track make me take extra time with every one of his offspring before saying no. The sprint-route-sprint pattern intrigues from an outside draw going 7 furlongs and note this one has been in open maiden special weights, not the auction price-restricted ones like this and the ones most of the competition has faced.

Race 8:
#3 Excellent (20-1 ML) – Everything Rudy Brisset sends out has ran credibly and this Colonial debut winner comes out of a circuit that’s proven to deliver excellent value the past 2 Fall Meets at Keeneland. Yes, Caribbean Life merits 4-5 favoritism and is the most likely winner, but a 20-1 on the back end of the exacta wouldn’t be a worst-case scenario.
