It's a similar, 8-race card as to Thursday’s, alternating dirt and turf races evenly throughout the menu. Feel more solid about the early portion of the card than late, so an early pick 5 might be in the crosshairs with morning line favorite #3 Stanford Dropout a deserving single in the Race 1 opener. #2 Circuit Breaker (7-2 morning line odds) has the best maiden win on paper for $30,000 claiming at Churchill. His 3: 1-2-0 dirt record is soiled by some poor efforts on turf and synthetic, but he’s right where he belongs. Clear-cut second last out behind a wire-to-wire winner and catches a field in which he should get a dynamite, inside trip under Juan Hernandez. Win bet #2. Daily Double 2-4. Picks 2-3-6.
Del Mar: Race 4 | 6:34 pm ET
#4 Mubtadaa (6-1 morning line odds) hasn’t routed in some time but was credible going long here vs. much tougher in the past and exits a series of even-running sprints that should play well Friday. Modest pace projected and should be involved throughout this one. Class drop suits. Win bet #4. Picks 4-1-10.
Del Mar: Race 6 | 7:36 pm ET
#4 Lucky N Smart (9-2 morning line odds) goes for a Carla Gaines barn that’s hot-and-cold historically and on a good run right now. No surprise to double down on wins at the meet after flashing late to break his maiden last out off a 2-year hiatus. Speed figures don’t impress like some here, but much of that other flash has come on dirt from his rivals. Win bet #4. Exacta box 4-1. Picks 4-1-8.
