Forecast: This race has been taken off the turf but the switch in surface shouldn’t matter to the second time starter Pay the Juice, who displayed plenty of promise when a close third in his debut sprinting on grass last month. The son of Omaha Beach likely will display a bit more early speed today, and if he can quicken like he did in his first start he should be set to graduate from this thinned out New York bred field. Though likely a short price, Shug’s colt seems like a logical rolling exotic single.

Forecast: Goa makes her U.S. debut after arriving dead fit following two sharp wins over an all-weather surface in France, a clever maiden win in February and then an allowance score in mid-May, after which she was privately purchased and sent to trainer C. Brown. A series of recent easy recent breezes should have her sharp and ready for her first career outing on grass, but as a daughter of No Nay Never the switch to the sod shouldn’t bother her in the least. The first time Lasix user has a nice way of going, plenty of stamina, and good acceleration when asked, so we’re expecting her French form will be easily duplicated to the States and expect her winning streak to be extended in this middle distance, first level allowance affair.
