Betmix Stats, 1/ST BET AI Picks for Parx Stakes | Tuesday, March 5, 2024

It’s a two-fer Tuesday at Parx with a pair of stakes races co-featured on the 10-race card that gets underway at 12:10 pm ET. The $75,000 Main Line Stakes and $75,000 City of Brotherly Love Stakes will be offered in Races 8-9, both at 1 mile and 70 yards on the main track.

Main Line Stakes | Race 8 | 3:14 pm ET

Named for Philadelphia’s wealthy western suburbs along the city’s original railway line, this stakes for 3-year-old fillies will be looking for a new local leader with the scratch of #3 Aoife’s Magic, who ran third in Saturday’s Busher Stakes at Aqueduct. In reverse, it’s Jan. 19 Aqueduct maiden winner #8 Experimental who comes to Bensalem for trainer Chad Brown. She will stretch out around 2 turns for the first time in her third lifetime start, but Betmix stats show Brown is a strong 12: 4-3-1 with offspring of Practical Joke in races longer than a mile since the start of 2023. Trainer Butch Reid has last-out winners #1 Kiss For Luck and #7 Jeanne Marie on the class rise. Reid’s 9 Parx stakes winners since the start of 2023 are easily most of any trainer (next-most 4, only 2 trainers with more than 2).

1/ST BET Artificial Intelligence Win Projections:
#3 Aoife’s Magic (7-2 ML) | 19%
#8 Experimental (5-2 ML) | 17%
#1 Kiss For Luck (9-2 ML) | 14%

City of Brotherly Love Stakes | Race 9 | 3:41 pm ET

#4 Guanare has won all 3 starts since moving to trainer Rick Dutrow, including Laurel Park’s Spectacular Bid Stakes most recently. But the dasher by champion sprinter Runhappy attempts two turns for the first time. His dam is half-sister to Belmont Stakes winner Palace Malice, so the distance may not be an issue. Sire Runhappy’s sprinters have won 15.5% over the past year-plus, while 12.5% in routes, according to Betmix. #1 Just Step On It, #2 Le Vin and #3 Lonesome Boy rematch from a 1-2-3 allowance finish (in that order) on February 19 at Parx. The winner pulled an 11-1 upset in that one, following up his 19-1 maiden breaker, so he’s capable of outrunning his odds again. Le Vin’s trainer Jamie Ness won 32.7% at Parx during the month of February with 16 victories. #6 Facenda scratched from Saturday’s Gotham at Aqueduct to run here. He broke his maiden at Turf Paradise before being transferred to two-time Kentucky Derby-winning trainer Doug O’Neill for the roadtrip.

1/ST BET Artificial Intelligence Win Projections:
#1 Just Step On It (6-1 ML) | 20%
#4 Guanare (8-5 ML) | 18%
#2 Le Vin (5-1 ML) | 15%
